User Agreement
Effective Date: October 13, 2025
1. Ownership and Scope
This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between the user (“you”) and SplitUp, owned and operated by Launi Sheldon, Esq., based in Scottsdale, Arizona. It governs your access to and use of the SplitUp mobile application (“App”) and thesplitupapp.com (“Website”), collectively referred to as the “Platform.”
By creating an account, installing, or using the Platform, you agree to comply with this Agreement, the accompanying Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer, each incorporated herein by reference.
2. License Grant
SplitUp grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App and Website for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. This license does not confer ownership of the App, its content, or its intellectual property.
3. Restrictions on Use
You agree not to copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute SplitUp materials; reverse-engineer or decompile software; disable security features; share your credentials; use the Platform for unlawful or abusive activity; or misrepresent your identity or affiliation. Any violation may result in immediate termination of this license and potential legal action.
4. Intellectual Property and Copyright
All SplitUp materials—including software, text, images, videos, and digital downloads—are the exclusive property of SplitUp and Launi Sheldon, Esq. All rights are reserved whether or not a specific item displays a copyright notice. The absence of an on-screen notice on short-form videos or downloads does not waive ownership or enforcement rights. You may use SplitUp content only for your own educational purposes and may not reproduce, publish, or distribute it without written consent.
5. Payments and Subscriptions
SplitUp is a for-profit service. All purchases are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. SplitUp does not directly process or retain payment information. Subscription details, pricing, and renewal terms are displayed in the app stores and may change. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before renewal. Refunds are handled according to Apple and Google Play policies. Any payment requests outside those stores are unauthorized and should be reported immediately to launi.sheldon@thesplitupapp.com.
6. Affiliate and Marketing Disclosure
SplitUp may promote or link to third-party products and services. Some links are affiliate links, meaning SplitUp may earn a commission if users purchase through a referral. SplitUp selects affiliates based on user value and does not control third-party content or policies. Users interact with third-party services at their own discretion. All affiliate relationships are disclosed in compliance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines.
7. Privacy and Data Use
SplitUp collects and processes data in accordance with its Privacy Policy, including anonymous analytics, affiliate tracking, and operational data necessary to maintain the Platform. SplitUp employs encryption and security measures to safeguard user data.
8. Disclaimer of Legal and Professional Advice
SplitUp provides educational and coaching content only. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice or representation, and does not create an attorney–client or psychologist–patient relationship. Users are responsible for verifying laws and procedures in their own jurisdictions.
9. Limitation of Liability
SplitUp and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of the Platform. Content is provided “as is” and “as available.” Users assume full responsibility for actions taken in reliance on Platform materials.
10. Termination
SplitUp may suspend or terminate access at any time for breach of this Agreement or unlawful conduct. Upon termination, you must cease using the App and delete all copies from your devices. Provisions on intellectual property, liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Agreement and all disputes relating to SplitUp are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Disputes must first be submitted to mediation in Maricopa County, Arizona, and if unresolved, settled by binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association before a single arbitrator in Maricopa County.
12. Updates and Modifications
SplitUp may revise this Agreement at any time. Continued use of the Platform after revisions constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
