Together, the App and Website are referred to as the “Platform.”

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Platform, including all content, downloads, and related services.
By creating an account, subscribing, or using SplitUp, you agree to these Terms and to the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree, you may not use SplitUp.

2. Purpose of SplitUp

SplitUp provides educational and coaching resources to help families navigate family court and better understand the family-law process, including divorce, paternity, custody, child support, parenting time, and all related financial matters - both legally and emotionally.

SplitUp does not provide legal representation, legal advice, therapy, or psychological treatment.

Using SplitUp does not create an attorney-client or psychologist-patient relationship with Launi Sheldon, Esq., any employee, partner, or any contributor.

All content is general and educational.
Laws change daily and are different in every jurisdiction, therefore, users are solely responsible for verifying applicable laws and procedures in their jurisdiction.
Reliance on SplitUp content is entirely at the user’s own risk.

3. Eligibility and Account Responsibilities

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding contract to use SplitUp.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current registration information;

  • Maintain confidentiality of your credentials; and

  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account.

SplitUp may suspend or terminate any account for violation of these Terms, fraudulent conduct, or misuse of the Platform.

4. Subscription Plans and Payments

SplitUp operates as a for-profit educational platform offering both free and premium content.

  • All payments are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • SplitUp does not collect or store credit-card or banking information directly.

  • Subscription terms, prices, and renewal details are displayed in the respective app store and may change without notice.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew according to store policy unless canceled through the user’s account before renewal.

  • Refunds and cancellations are governed by Apple/Google Play policies and applicable consumer-protection laws.

  • Any request for payment outside those stores is unauthorized and should be reported to launi.sheldon@thesplitupapp.com.

5. Free and Premium Content

SplitUp offers:

  • Free content — general educational articles, short-form videos, and resources;

  • Premium content — advanced modules, digital downloads, and interactive tools for subscribers.

All materials are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only and remain the exclusive property of SplitUp.

6. Intellectual Property and Global Copyright Notice

All SplitUp materials — including text, software, graphics, logos, images, videos, and downloadable content — are the exclusive intellectual property of SplitUp and Launi Sheldon, Esq., protected under U.S. and international copyright and trademark laws.

You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to access and use SplitUp for personal educational purposes only.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute SplitUp content;

  • Modify or create derivative works;

  • Sell, sublicense, or publicly display materials; or

  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices.

Global Copyright Protection: All SplitUp content is copyrighted, whether or not a specific video, post, or download displays an individual notice. Videos (typically 30 seconds to 10 minutes) may not display an on-screen copyright legend, but all rights remain reserved to SplitUp and Launi Sheldon, Esq.

User feedback or ideas may be used by SplitUp for service improvement without compensation.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7. Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines

Users agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or defame others;

  • Post or transmit unlawful, obscene, mean, violent, or misleading material;

  • Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Platform;

  • Misrepresent affiliation with SplitUp or impersonate others;

  • Provide legal advice to others.

SplitUp may remove content or terminate access for any behavior violating these guidelines or applicable law.

8. Affiliate and Marketing Disclosures

SplitUp may, from time to time, recommend, promote, or link to third-party products or services that we believe may benefit users.
Some of these links are affiliate links, meaning SplitUp may receive a commission or other financial benefit if you purchase, sign up, or engage with those services through our referral.

We select affiliates based on user value and relevance, not merely compensation.
However, SplitUp does not control third-party sites, services, or products and is not responsible for their content, quality, or policies.
Your use of any third-party site is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

All affiliate relationships are disclosed consistent with FTC guidelines on endorsements and advertising.

9. Accessibility Commitment

SplitUp strives to make its App and Website accessible to all users and to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and similar accessibility standards.
Users encountering barriers are encouraged to contact launi.sheldon@thesplitupapp.com for assistance.

10. Analytics, Data, and Privacy

SplitUp uses analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Firebase to collect anonymized usage data to improve performance and user experience.
No personally identifiable data is sold or shared for advertising purposes.

For full details on what data is collected, stored, or shared, please review the Privacy Policy.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SplitUp, its owner, affiliates, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the Platform, even if advised of such possibility.

All content is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Users assume full responsibility for their actions based on SplitUp materials.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

All disputes must first be submitted to mediation in Maricopa County, Arizona.
If mediation fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration before a single arbitrator under the American Arbitration Association (AAA) rules in Maricopa County, Arizona.
Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction in Arizona.

13. Termination

SplitUp may suspend or terminate access at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent or abusive conduct, or other misuse.
Upon termination, all licenses end immediately, though obligations regarding confidentiality, intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution remain enforceable.

14. Modifications and Updates

SplitUp may update these Terms periodically.
The “Effective Date” above reflects the latest version.
Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and SplitUp and supersede any prior communications or understandings.
If any provision is found invalid, the remainder shall continue in effect.
